Happy Halloween / Feliz Halloween

Happy Halloween everyone!! Since we are new here and we didn't know where to take the kids for trick-or-treating, I called a friend from the ward here and she told me we could go over to her place in North Brunswick to trick-or-treat . The kids really liked it and got a lot of candy. Which means we are going to be eating a lot of it. In one of the houses we knocked, this guy was giving the kids a quarter and a piece of candy. We didn't have a basket for Samuel but this guy saw Mac holding Samuel, and came out of the house to give Samuel a 1 dollar bill. That was so nice of him. Both Lili and John wanted to start eating their candy after the first house they got candy at. At the last house this old lady opened the door and she was laughing and saying: Look at these kids! At this point there were other kids at the door waiting for candy. I guess John liked the lady a lot because he went inside her house. I had to go in to get him out. We had a good time. Thank you Kristin for letting us come to trick-or-treat with you.

Gymnastics / Gimnasia

Our friend Claudia, who was at Mac's birthday party, told me the other day that Rutgers has a gymnastics class for kids starting at 3 years old. She takes her daughter Elisa there and told me that she really likes it. And so we thought about trying it for Lili. It's on every Thursday from 5:15 to 6:00 pm. Today I decided to go check it out.
My friend Veronica was here from Pennsylvania and so she came with me. When I got there I talked to the instructor and she said that Lili could try it. I really didn't have Lili in gymnastic-friendly clothes - she was wearing a pair of jeans because we though we would just go and watch - but she wanted to do it so I let her loose and there she went. She LOVED it and she is actually really good. I think we have a little gymnast in our family. She was so excited and had tons of energy. I wish I would have had my camera. Next time I'll take it and try to film her. I'd like to take her every Thursday and stay to watch her but I don't know how that would work. She is going to go for sure but I don't know if I'll be able to stay there with John and Sam because John just wants to go with Lili. I wish they would take him too but he has to be 3 years old. Anyway, it was really fun and I can't wait until next Thursday. The good thing about this class is that there are only 3 kids and so they get the instructor's full attention.

First Snow / Primera Nieve

Today, we got some snow. It really made me feel like I was in Utah so it made me feel at home or at least one of my homes. Anyway here is a little video to show you. This was taken from the window in our apartment. Enjoy.

Hoy nevo. Disfrutenlo.

Burnt Hand / Mano Quemada

Last Wednesday, October 22, Lili burned her right hand with the iron. She literally ironed her hand. Mac took her to the emergency room because we didn't know how bad it was. There they said it was a 2nd degree burn. They gave us some antibiotic cream to put on her hand and told us to wrap it and re-wrap it twice a day. They also gave us some pain medication to give to her just in case, but we haven't had to give her any. She is a tough little girl. She is doing great and never complains about her hand. In the hospital they said that after her hand is back to normal, her skin might look different where she got burnt and maybe a different color but that there won't be any scarring. Anyway the most important thing is that she is ok. I'm sure she learned that irons are not to play with and that when mommy says No she means No. I also learned that just because a kid has never been interested in something before, it doesn't mean that they will never be interested in trying it at some time. So next time I won't leave the iron by itself again even if it is only for literally 1 second. We love you Lili and you scared us for a minute. Here are some pictures.

Smiles / Sonrisas

This is Sam at one week from turning 5 months old. He is so cute and so smiley. I love this little guy so much. Believe it or not today he got on his knees and elbows while he was playing on the floor. He reminds me of Lili when she was a baby. I think he is going to start walking early like his big sister. John was more laid-back and took his time for everything. Just some info about Sam: I took him to his 4 months old check up appointment and he weighed 11 lb 14 oz. They told me to start him on cereal now. So we have tried rice cereal and oatmeal and he doesn't mind eating them. The first time I gave it to him he ate it like he's been eating it since he was born. I was really surprised and really happy at the same time. I can't complain. Isn't he cute?

Yesterday we had our ward Halloween Party at the church. The kids had a lot of fun and they got a lot of candy. At one point we lost John and we couldn't find him. All of a sudden they put some music on and I was sure John would come right to where the music was. Sure enough, the music started and out of nowhere he appeared and started to dance. Have I mentioned before how much John likes to dance? He is so funny. At the party they had a piñata for the older kids and one for the very young. Lili and John did really good and they could even hit better than kids that are older than them. I guess the practice that they have had from hitting all those piñatas at birthday parties and parties in general has helped. Anyway, let me tell you about the kids' costumes. Lili was Snow White and she looked just beautiful. John was a "Johnny" skeleton and Sam was a puppy. What inspired me?: The price tag. I haven't had time this year to make any costumes. We will see what happens next year. Here are some pictures of the evening.

30 Years Old / 30 Años

Today is Mac's birthday. He is 30 years old. Even though he thinks he is really old now I still think he is really handsome and I love him very much. Happy Birthday Mac!!. I love you very much and I'm so proud of you. Thanks for all you do for our little family. I hope you have a great day. I haven't made a cake for him for the last 2 years because guess what? I've been pregnant and sick each time. So I decided to give him a surprise birthday party. Along with some old friends of ours, I invited over some new friends that we have met here in New Jersey that go to school with Mac. I cooked all day long and I still can't believe I was able to get everything done in time. I seriously cooked as if I was throwing a party for like 30 people when I was only having 7 couples over. I don't know what I was thinking. Let me tell you, I have enough food left over for another party. Anyway we had a good time and Mac was surprised. He did not see it coming. Here are some pictures of the party.

He estado embarazada y enferma cada vez.

I'm alive / Estoy Viva

Yes, it's me again trying to post something. It's going to be short but I just wanted to let everyone know that I'm alive. I haven't disappeared from the map. I'm just in a different part of the map. We moved to New Jersey 2 months ago, today. Time flies! It's been kind of crazy but all is good now except for having 3 sick kids at the same time. There is so much I want to say and write about but for right now this is all I can say because it is really late and I just want to go to sleep. Goodnight everyone!
